Day 8: Gridirons to Guitars - Broadway Joe and LT to Joan Jett

Day 8: From Hall to Hall (of Fame, that is!) 🏈🎸

Today, we kicked off at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where I met up with my good friend Jeff. We toured the place like two kids in a candy store, except the candy was Lombardi Trophies and highlight reels.

Football fans are a different breed. Jeff’s a die-hard Jets fan, and I’m loyal to the Giants. Somehow, we managed to keep things civil,  no tackles, no trash talk, just lots of laughs and great memories from both teams’ glory days. Oh, and the hologram of Joe Namath? Unreal. Broadway Joe himself, larger than life!

Next stop was The Boathouse in Akron for lunch, and wow,  what a hidden gem! I had an avocado bowl that was out of this world, and Jeff went with a crab cake Benedict that looked straight out of a Food Network commercial. Small place, big flavor, and a chef who clearly knows what they’re doing.

After lunch, we made a few sentimental stop, visiting Bob and Ann’s grave and their home, a touching and meaningful part of the day.

Then it was off to Cleveland for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The place was electric (pun intended).

Wow. Just wow. The energy inside that place could power a stadium. The Seattle Sound exhibit, grunge never dies!  The early '90s, is most likely my favorite era of music.  Then there was the Women in Rock exhibit, which completely stole the show. Seeing tributes to Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks, The Runaways, and No Doubt had me totally fired up. I even got to watch some amazing video footage of The Runaways and No Doubt, two of my all-time favorites. Anything Joan Jett is my favorite! 😎

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, there was a Saturday Night Live music display highlighting legendary live performances. It felt like I’d stepped straight into music history, loud guitars, bright lights, and pure attitude.

I had to drop a few other stops from my list, but that’s okay, I always tend to pack too much into one day anyway. 😎

What an amazing day, from football fields to power chords, from legends in pads to legends in leather. Tomorrow, I’ll be shuffling off to Buffalo, with plans to hit the Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz Museum, the National Comedy Center, and the Barcelona Lighthouse. The Hall of Fame road trip keeps rocking on! 🎶
