Day 17: Crossing Canada, Planes, Pucks, and a Puppy Goodbye

The day started early, very early, at 4:15 a.m. for my 7:00 flight back to Toronto. Saying goodbye to Loki was tough. He may be small, but he’s got a big personality, and I’ll definitely miss our walks. I'll also miss my friend Pam, who planned an amazing weekend for me and made it very memorable. She also gave me a pretty cool pink flamingo, who will always remind me of my time at the Florida Lottery and my time in Calgary.

The flight itself was uneventful, just how I like them. Once I landed, I grabbed my car and made my way to the Ottawa hockey arena. On my drive from Toronto to Ottawa, I got to see some beautiful, colorful leaves, Canada was still showing off some of its fall colors. What a game! Edmonton took a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period, but Ottawa stormed back in the third to tie it up and force overtime. The crowd was electric. Sadly, Edmonton scored in OT to seal the win, but it was still a fantastic matchup to watch live.

After the game, I hit the road toward Quebec, where I’m spending the night before continuing on to Montreal and then Quebec City tomorrow.
