Day 50, Immersive Art, Theatre, and Dinner with a Friend

My visit to the Arte Museum in New York felt like stepping into a living dream. Every room had a personality, a theme, and an amazing atmosphere.

The Entrance Hall

The floor reflected the overhead lights, and the screens along the wall showed forests, waves, and glowing digital art.

The Waterfall Room

The first main gallery was intense. When I stepped inside, towering walls came alive with cascading digital waterfalls. The water looked so real, and the room smelled similar to the scent after heavy rain.

The Beach Room

This was very interesting. Waves swept across the walls. The sand colored floor created the illusion of a shoreline, and the lighting shifted with each wave, so the room felt like a living ocean. Whales swam by in a relaxing and hypnotic way.

The Garden Room

This room felt like stepping into spring. I could smell the flowers blooming. The walls turned into lush fields of flowers in full bloom. Bright petals floated across the walls, then faded as they fell. The colors changed every minute. Butterflies flew everywhere, it was so surreal.

The Jungle Room

The next gallery shifted into a darker, more mysterious scene, featuring a tropical rainforest with animals and colors that changed based on the environment and lighting. The room felt warm, almost tropical.

The Interactive Room

This room was very interesting. There was a very large bunny rabbit sculpture, and there was also an area where people could draw an animal, scan it, and see it projected onto a large interactive wall. It was fun to watch people draw their animals, then see them appear on the screen.

The Tornado Room

This room had a swirling tornado effect, and I was able to step inside a circling funnel cloud. It was pretty cool, but I did not feel like I was in the middle of a tornado. 😎 The pictures of me inside the tornado came out great.

The Media Art Finale Room

The final room brought everything together in a dynamic closing performance. Massive screens wrapped around the space in a full 360 degree circle. There were three different displays in the twenty or twenty five minute show, New York City, the beach, and the Musee D Orsay.

The New York City segment brought the city to life as it moved through the bridges, the Statue of Liberty, and the tall buildings. Then it shifted into the subway, showing graffiti art. The clips of the rats and pigeons in the subway were funny.

The beach scenes made me feel like I was actually at the beach as the waves crashed and the water moved under my feet.

The Musee D'Orsay segment was amazing, it moved through so many different artists and paintings. I felt like I was in the museum itself. It showed works from Monet, Manet, Picasso, Renoir, Degas, and others. It was incredible.

I highly recommend the Arte Museum to anyone visiting or living in New York. It is one of the best immersive art experiences I have ever been through, truly worth the visit.

Little Bear Ridge Road Play

I had been trying to win tickets to Art, Chess, Ragtime, and Little Bear Ridge Road. I finally won the chance to pay only forty nine dollars to see Little Bear Ridge Road, and it turned out to be a great play. The seeds were grade in orchestra center.

I was pulled straight into the world of the story. The storytelling was very funny at first, but as the play went on, it became deeply emotional. The cast was incredible, and Laurie Metcalf in particular was amazing.

As the play ended, I talked to the two women next to me, and we all agreed that the show was emotional and heavy, even though it started out with a lot of humor. I would definitely recommend this play.

My friend Jeff and I went to one of our favorite restaurants, Becco. I ordered the osso buco with risotto and butternut squash, which is always amazing. Jeff ordered the pork chop parmesan, which looked amazing. We also had a Caesar salad. They kept bringing pasta, including lasagna Bolognese, pappardelle with tomato sauce, and penne with garlic and oil. The lasagna was amazing. I think I brought home more food than I ate. 😎

It was a great day, and I always love going into Manhattan. Since it was a Sunday, I drove in. It was not bad until I got to about Thirty Seventh Street, from there to Forty Sixth Street it was a nightmare. 😎 The lights need to be timed better.
